The longest downhill in the World Cup finishes in Wengen. And hardly anyone has shaped it like Karl Molitor.
Karl Molitor, record winner
In 1939 Karl Molitor won the Lauberhorn downhill for the first time. In total he took 6 downhill, 2 slalom and 3 combined wins – 11 victories that still make him the Lauberhorn’s record winner. Add to that 10 further podium places.
From 1950 he led the event as race director – for 42 years. The building in which he was born in 1920 still houses the store today.

According to the 2027 programme, the Patrouille Suisse will again perform its air show above the Lauberhorn.
After the race, experienced skiers can ride the original course from the Lauberhorn to Innerwengen themselves – included in the ski pass.
