Snowshoeing is the quietest way into winter: you don’t need any experience, just good boots, warm layers and some stamina. From Wengen a signposted trail leads straight from the village into the forest.
You can rent snowshoes from us for CHF 24 per day. We also equip you with waterproof winter boots, poles and clothing – and are happy to tell you which tour suits the current conditions.

Loop from Wengen · 5 km · ±280 m · approx. 2½ h · medium
Up to the Leiterhorn via Ledi and Hunnenfluh and back to the village via Ussri Allmi. Signposted in both directions (SchweizMobil route 143).

Start out slightly too cool: you warm up quickly on the climb. The warm layer belongs in your backpack – for the break.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience for snowshoeing?
No. On signposted trails like the Leiterhorn trail, good boots and some stamina are enough. For tours in open terrain we recommend a guided tour.
